| Norton clothes were present when Lord Carnavon discovered Tutenkhamens tomb, when Stanley found Dr Livingstone, and when the 19th century French traveller the Marquis de Vogue undertook his 'Voyage en Syrie et en Palestine'.
In the 1970's Norton & Sons incorporated the famous old Savile Row houses of E. Tautz & Sons, tailors to many of America's best dressed men and creators of the Tautz lapel, and J. Hoare & Co. whose collections graced the Musee de la Mode in Paris.
